The AI Assistant lets you ask plain-language questions about your finances and get instant answers.
Tap Ask AI in the bottom navigation bar to open the chat.

How it works
- You type a question.
- CaliMoney understands what data you need and queries your local movements (on your device).
- An AI model generates a plain-language answer from the aggregated result.
All data processing happens on your device first. Only aggregated totals and category names are sent to the AI — no individual movement descriptions, no amounts from specific transactions, no personal identifiers.
Privacy
The AI Assistant follows the same privacy model as the rest of CaliMoney:
- Individual movement details stay on your device. The AI only sees totals, counts, and category names — not your transaction descriptions.
- Encrypted users: if your data is encrypted and your session is locked, the assistant will note that some data may be missing from the answer. Unlock your session first for complete results.
Clearing the conversation
Tap the trash icon in the top-right corner of the chat to clear the conversation history. History is not saved between sessions.
