Account
Registration, login and CaliMoney account management
Creating an account
Open CaliMoney and tap Sign up.
Enter your email address and choose a password (minimum 6 characters).
Tap Sign up. You will receive a verification email.
Verify your email by clicking the link you received to activate your account.
Signing in with email and password
Enter your email and password on the login screen and tap Sign in.
Signing in with Google
Tap Sign in with Google and choose the Google account you want to use. No separate password is required.
Google authentication uses Firebase's secure OAuth flow. CaliMoney never has access to your Google password.
Two-factor authentication (2FA)
Two-factor authentication adds a second layer of security to your account. After entering your password, you will be asked for a 6-digit code from an authenticator app on your phone.
Enabling 2FA
You need an authenticator app installed on your phone — for example Google Authenticator, Authy, or any TOTP-compatible app.
Open Settings and tap the Account tab.
Scroll to the Two-factor authentication section and tap Enable 2FA.
Copy the secret key shown and add a new account in your authenticator app by entering the key manually.
Enter the 6-digit code generated by the app and tap Verify. Once verified, 2FA is active.
Store the secret key in a safe place (for example a password manager). If you lose access to your authenticator app and have no backup, you will not be able to sign in.
Signing in with 2FA enabled
After entering your email and password (or signing in with Google), a second screen will ask for your verification code. Open your authenticator app, enter the current 6-digit code and tap Verify.
Disabling 2FA
Open Settings → Account → Two-factor authentication.
Tap Disable 2FA and confirm.
Signing out
Tap the Settings icon in the header and then Log out. Local data remains on the device; cloud data stays associated with your account.
Account security
- Use a strong password for your email account.
- Enable two-factor authentication for extra protection.
- If you use encryption, choose a passphrase different from your login password.
- In case of compromise, change the password from your email provider or Google account.
